@gocsick I never had much luck with false tones on that horn. The long and straight slides on 1 and 3 were very functional.
I heard a few times that it looked like I was playing a trombone when pulling the 3rd valve slide for a pedal C.

Re: FS: Wessex Champion Eb tuba & Mack Brass comp euph
I purchased this euphonium at Tuba Exchange. @ghmerrill took excellent care of the euphonium and I had a great experience at Tuba Exchange.
Bump for the Wessex Eb. I suspect that horn was also very well maintained!

Re: Hard Case for PT6
MTS has a tuba figment guide that you can download here:
https://mtsproducts.com/tuba-fitment-guide-1
PT6 looks like a special order. I haven’t ordered anything from MTS, so I don’t know if that is up to date or what their production status may be.

Re: Wtb: F-Tuba
This new horn from Mack Brass might be worth a look. A band mate has really liked his ZO Thunderbird CC. Chris Olka’s review videos are well done too.

Re: How to check piston valve height?
You are paying close attention! I have a King sousaphone that was modified by the previous owner to graft a non-matching 4th valve onto the block. I am changing to larger finger buttons and decided the King 2341 buttons were both cost effective and comfortable. The original valve caps for 1-3 were ...

Re: How to check piston valve height?
I opted to buy a mirror for $5. https://a.co/d/4B7geHR A 00 or 000 dental mirror would have more clearance. The visual inspection confirms the original components are ok, but I will need to get some different felt and maybe a longer valve stem to use the new valve top cap and finger button. Thanks ...

I have used the 18” holster with my Martin Mammoth 6/4. It was stable and pretty comfortable, even for a 2 hour gig.gocsick wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 9:43 am They also make a Holster harness, but I've never seen one in person

How to check piston valve height?
I want to check my piston valve height alignment, but I don’t have a Borescope or inspection mirror that fits inside of the neighbor valve casing. There are several valve positions that I cannot see when pulling the slides. Is there a different way to check piston height, or do I need a mirror or s ...

Re: Eastman 534 vs the 562
The US site only shows a CC version of the Thunderbird. My bandmate plays one and loves it. He says it’s just as nimble as a 4/4 CC, but has the output of the 6/4 when needed.
Mack’s US site lists their YorkaZo 5000 5/4 as the largest BBb option:

That’s a nice one!
It looks very similar to “Big Bertha” that I played in high school marching band.
Enjoy
