Jack Richardson's little Sander tuba all polished up!

Post by Dave Detwiler »

Hi all - with a snow day today, I decided to polish up Jack Richardson's little Sander tuba that was recently given to me by his great nephew. It looks fantastic for being roughly 100 years old!

Played an F. E. Olds 4-valve BBb in high school (late '70s)
Led the USC Trojan Marching Band tuba section (early '80s)
Now playing an F. Schmidt (=VMI) 3301 and goofing around
on a 1925 Pan American Sousaphone and an 1899 Conn tuba!

That’s quite a responsibility! I would think Library of Congress or Smithsonian worthy items. I’m sure they will be welcomed.
The Met has a nice display of historical instruments as well.
