Re: Dragon BBb
I have a CC and an F at my store. The F plays well enough. Intonation in the high range is terrible but from my point of view if you just want something small that will fit in your car seat so that you can noodle around a bit when youre bored its fine. The CC is terrible. We did have a silver CC at ...

Re: WTB F Tuba
As long as we're posting cheap chinese Fs, thomann has what looks like a yfb 621 copy for 2500 if youre willing to take one for the team. People have said good things about the clones of this horn but not much about this particular distributor.

Re: Preferred mouthpiece?
I'm experimenting a bit right now. I played on a PT-50 for years, but recently wanted something a bit smaller just because i was playing more solo style stuff. I swapped to a Laskey 28H, and shortly after that i got access to an F tuba that really diminished the need for solo stuff on my contrabass ...

Re: a cheaper grade of 2341 knockoff...??
I would sure love to get my hands on it just to see how good or bad it is but I would never buy a horn blind with no info other than "some flavor of Chinese knockoff" Those newer 2341s are the only BBb tubas I really like playing these days too, but 3500 considering what else I can find in that ...

Re: YamaYork, cont.
Really big tubas feel wrong and impossible if you've never played them, but feel right after sticking with them for two or three weeks. Moving back to really small tubas can feel just as wrong, but it's easier to adjust because you've done it before. I've experienced both of these. I've been ...

Re: YamaYork, cont.
Only york ive ever played on was an 836 we had on consignment a year ago. It humbled me as a player. I'm a big guy and it felt like too much horn for me. Need to try and get chances to play on more of these. I would hate for stuff this size to actually become the standard but ill need to be familiar ...

Re: New Mike Johnson “Fletcher” Leadpipe
I'm pretty sure that this was done in my store, the other tuba player from your brass band was teaching me a bit about E-flat tubas when he came to pick it up. Absolutely beautiful horn.

Re: College Audition Help

Re: price quotes for schools
Currently wrestling with several school districts in my area that keep asking for invoices to be billed in different ways. You would think that would be the easy part but for whatever reason it gets much harder to do once the agreed upon services have been rendered...
